You can consult the “Manual of Bioregions: An integrated strategy for the development of rural territories” – PROBIOMADEIRA.
The term Bio-region refers to a territory within which there is cooperation between all local actors who identify organic agriculture or agroecology as a pillar of rural development.
In Portugal there are four Bio-Regions: Idanha-a-Nova, Alto Tâmega, São Pedro do Sul and Left Bank of the Guadiana.
