European Council: Contingency plan for food safety in crisis situations

Agriculture ministers, at the European Council, approved last December 13 conclusions on a plan to protect the EU's food supply against future threats. The contingency plan to ensure food supply and food security, developed by the Commission under the “From meadow to fork” strategy, will help the EU to address challenges such as extreme weather events, plant health and animal health issues and scarcity of key factors production, namely fertilisers, energy and labor.
