Agri-food supply chain price observatory

The “National is Sustainable” Price Observatory, established by Dispatch 12209/2022 of October 6 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and the Ministry of Economy and the Sea, has the mission of assessing the impacts of the market situation on prices at the level of the consumer, and any shortcomings resulting from the available market observation tools, with a view to ensuring effective monitoring of costs and prices throughout the agri-food supply chain.

 

Goals

The “National is Sustainable” Price Observatory aims to promote transparency and efficiency in the marketing process, detecting possible situations of imbalance in product prices throughout the marketing chain based on the following objectives:
  • Collect and analyze information in terms of cost structure, prices and value margins, in order to allow greater transparency in the agri-food chain;
  • Enhance knowledge and monitoring of the chain;
  • Increase the competitiveness of the sector;
  • Support the formulation of policies in the agri-food sector.
